Consultant Haematologist
Dr Borg is a graduate of the medical school of the University of Malta and trained in haematology at Manchester Royal Infirmary and University College Hospital, London. He was a Leukaemia Research Fund Fellow during which time he published papers on drug resistance of acute myeloid leukaemia and developed flow cytometric techniques for the detection of several drug resistance proteins.
He has been a consultant haematologist since 1999 with a special interest in the laboratory investigation and clinical management of haematological malignancies, in particular the lymphomas and myeloma. He is a member of the working party of the low-grade lymphoma group for the National Cancer Research Institute. He is also active in academic and clinical research of these disorders and has collaborated with the biological sciences department of Warwick University.
