Dr Sethsiri Wijeratne, MBBS MD MRCPath
Consultant Chemical Pathologist
Dr Wijeratne graduated from University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, where he was a Clinical Lecturer and obtained his MD in Chemical Pathology. He gained valuable experience in management of multidisciplinary laboratories in both government and private sector while he was in Sri Lanka. He further trained in Chemical Pathology / Clinical Biochemistry in South Thames Rotation, mainly based at King's College and St. Thomas Hospitals, London.
Dr Wijeratne was appointed to Warwick Hospital in 2005. His main laboratory interests are optimal utilisation of laboratory resources / facilities and demand management. He provides cardiovascular risk factor management service to South Warwickshire community with special emphasis on lipids, metabolic syndrome and obesity. He is active in research and has more than 20 presentations.
He is involved in teaching and training of undergraduate and postgraduates in both medical and scientific field and works in close collaboration with Warwick Medical School.
